Went here for lunch on a Sunday. After reading reviews, we were a little nervous but we were pleasantly surprised. Should note, it's the same menu as dinner. Food was great and warm!

Absolutely charming and historic restaurant off the GW Parkway in Alexandria close to Mt Vernon. Delicious crab cakes and excellent service. Can't wait to go back.

I've been coming to Cedar Knoll for about 9 years. The staff is always friendly, they remember my wife and I whenever we visit, and the rotating menu is always fun and different. They have continually made additions and alterations to the venue and it's nice seeing new things when we come in. Great view of the Potomac when available and nice atmosphere inside.

Yelp is always right. Cedar Knoll sits at four stars when I write this, and the incredible views of the Potomac, the excellent service (tough to do these days), and very well done food (and not unreasonably priced, actually) means I will definitely be back again. If you want true fine dining you might look elsewhere, as some relatively basic questions were unanswerable by staff, but I loved the meal and unfussy service from Latasha. The food is quite impressive, as I almost found no nits to pick (an oversalted rockfish was the only slight miss). Lobster bisque, carrot soup, oyster stew, and Virginia Rockefeller were all hits with an excellent blend of flavor. As other Yelpers have mentioned, the pace of everything is slower than normal. Didn't bother me at all but don't come in a rush - we were a hair over two hours with two courses. And something I appreciate more as I hit the second half of this "being alive" phase I've been going through is that the seating is quite comfortable. A leisurely, comfortable meal with that view is just perfect.
